Creating Fully-Formed Followers of Jesus Christ

As part of Pittsford Community Church, we want to help people become fully-formed followers of Jesus Christ. And our student ministry is no different. Within our program, we believe there are three areas in a student’s life that need to be shaped in order to help them achieve this goal:  their Head, Hearts, and Hands.

Head: A person can be as passionate as they want, but without a proper understanding of the Christian faith and the God they worship, their emotions can easily become misplaced. We believe it is vital for a student to be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Rom. 12:2), and so we’ve tailored our Sunday School to be a place where students will learn the essentials of the Christian faith.

Heart: Simply having all the facts about Christianity does not make a person a believer. In fact, some of the people that Jesus had the hardest time with during His earthly ministry were the scribes, Pharisees, and religious leaders – those who knew all of the facts, but lacked the heart of the Father. The information we learn should always drive us to Father’s heart, especially as He develops our own. Our Friday night program, Vertical Youth, is designed to connect students with the Father’s heart as they engage in worship, prayer, fellowship, and teaching from God’s Word.

Hands: The final key in being a fully-formed follower of Jesus Christ is to take a student’s knowledge and love and to put them into practice. Our student ministry program will provide students with an outlet to serve and get their hands dirty for the Gospel. From service projects to mission trips, we will engage students in Kingdom work.
