Over and over again I’m impressed with God’s great blessings in my life—family, ministry, growth opportunities. I’ve been serving Pittsford Community Church in pastoral leadership since 1985 and still believe that the best is yet ahead for our church. I love teaching and preaching God’s Word in a systematic, expository (verse-by-verse) way and leading God’s people into a deeper walk with Jesus Christ.
God prepared me for this ministry through outstanding educational opportunities, beginning with my family upbringing in the little town of Moravia in the Fingers Lakes Region of New York. My ministry training included Moody Bible Institute (Chicago), Calvary Bible College (Kansas City, MO), Dallas Theological Seminary, and Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA). My capstone Doctor of Ministry degree came through further studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.
In addition to my ministry at Pittsford Community Church, I’ve been blessed to visit several countries and teach in places like Russia, Saipan, Chad (Africa), Ukraine, and Brazil. I also serve as an adjunct professor at Northeastern Seminary (Rochester, NY). Teaching is my passion!
But an even greater passion in my heart is my family. Monica (my high school sweetheart) and I have been married for over 35 years. God has blessed us with three great children and a wonderful daughter-in-law. Andrew is an officer in the U.S. Army and is married to Nicole, living in Colorado Springs. Emma is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College and teaches kindergarten in a charter school in Rochester. Adam is pursuing his college studies locally.
Of course, my greatest passion in life is to become more and more head-over-heels in love with Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 has been a guiding verse in my life for many years: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.” That’s my life longing, and I trust it will be my legacy.
